Ecoflow
Led design initiatives for Ecoflow, an IBC Accelerator initiative measuring and communicating the environmental impact of streaming across devices, networks and infrastructure.

The Challenge
Ecoflow's subject matter was inherently difficult to see: the environmental impact of streaming is spread across devices, networks and cloud infrastructure, with no shared industry vocabulary or consistent measurement standard to describe it. The design challenge was to take that fragmented, technical picture, dense lab data on device, content and network attributes, and turn it into something legible at a glance across very different formats: a working TV app, a real-time analytics dashboard, conference signage and panel presentations.
It also had to work for very different audiences at once, from broadcaster engineers and product owners who needed precision, to a general audience encountering sustainability in streaming for the first time, without diluting the message for one group or overwhelming the other.

The Work
Designed a working TV demo application used to test energy-saving features under real, measured conditions rather than in the abstract: an eco playback mode, an audio-only option, an HDR toggle, and a darker "Eco UI" theme, alongside integrations like peer-to-peer delivery and bitrate-limited playback.
Ran and fed into external research sessions with broadcaster designers, product owners and engineers to gather feedback on the app and its framing.

Alongside the app, supporting diagrams and dashboards made complex data and insights legible for internal presentations, workshops, and external audiences, including the website and conference material.

Ecoflow was included in the IBC Accelerator Programme in 2024 and 2025. In 2026 the Ecoflow initiative became an industry alliance and official participant IBC Partner Programme.
